Giving from your IRA… Why now?

Under the Pension Protection Act of 2006, if you are at least 70½, you can make a gift directly from your Individual Retirement Account to Yale—tax free. This special opportunity continues to be available for qualified charitable distributions of up to $100,000 per donor—but only through December 31, 2007. Amounts transferred apply toward the minimum required distributions for the year.
